Hero Destroyed hail from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and contains ex-members of Commit Suicide. This 22 minute self-titled debut EP portrays a band playing freaky metalcore in the vein of acts such as Converge, Norma Jean as well as the earlier material of Mastodon and Burnt By The Sun and the likes. The 7 tracks on this EP cannot convince me to the max although it’s not bad either. This probably has to do with the amount of releases within this genre I have heard lately; it’s making me a bit nervous. In that case I am glad it’s just 22 minutes, but to get a real proper idea what this band is capable of I need to hear more. Right now I feel it’s a mediocre act with no new impulses within this genre.
