I won’t call myself a specialist when it comes to progressive music, but anyone can hear whether an artist is any good or not. Marco Sfogli definitely is a good musician and I guess he got the most attention when he worked with Dream Theater’s James Labrie on his solo effort “Elements of Persuasion”. “There’s Hope” is an instrumental album and I can’t imagine fans of the genre won’t like this. The songs are easy to follow although it’s pretty technical of course. The tone of Marco’s guitar is great and reminds me quite a bit of Joe Satriani’s guitar tone on his “Surfing with the Alien” album. Lion Music keeps on delivering albums by the world’s greatest guitarists and Marco Sfogli definitely belongs to that group of people.
