Trustgame is a 5-piece from the Ruhr area in Germany that has set the goal to create exciting alternative rock when they started out a couple of years ago. This self-titled album is their full-length debut and I have to admit that it does sound quite exciting. First of all what has to be said is that the production of this album is very good. You would swear these guys were from the States when you wouldn’t know they’re German. Their sound is fairly original too and if I have to try to describe it I would say you should place these guys somewhere in between the more tranquil Alice in Chains material and HIM. So, it’s definitely material that rocks but also shows an emotional side. The use of electronics gives the songs a bit of extra edge. On the song ‘Good-bye Harbour’ you can even hear an accordion and trumpet, which makes this one of the tracks that really stands out. In conclusion I can tell this is a fine album and these guys really present themselves in a very good way on this debut.
