It’s been a while since I heard anything recorded by Izegrim. These 5 Dutch guys and girls released their previous full-length in 2002 and in between they did an EP, which I missed. Now there’s finally something new available and I have to admit this 10 song thrash album is a pretty good one. I have to add that you should give this album some time to sink in. Izegrim’s thrash isn’t the typical style of thrash where bands usually follow Slayer’s or Kreator’s footsteps. Izegrim have their own style and although you can hear some classic thrash parts in general, most of the time it simply sounds like Izegrim. The groovy riffs are some of the strongest points on this album and Kristien’s vocals sound pretty fierce. “Tribute to Totalitarianism” has become a mature album and it deserves your attention.
