The Darkest Red
Destroy & Rebuild
Crossfirecult Records

The second release by the new Dutch label Crossfirecult Records is from The Darkest Red, an act from Waalwijk in Holland who deliver a fine debut with ‘Destroy & Rebuild’. The first thing that I notice is that everything is done outstanding, from the layout to the actual production on this CD. It simply sounds great.

Musically there’s not much to complain about when you dig modern melodic death metal. Think of acts like The Black Dahlia Murder, Heaven Shall Burn and bands like that if you have to put The Darkest Red in a shoebox. The music is aggressive and the compositions are well written, the guitar riffs are well thought about and contain the necessary melody to remain interesting. If you like your metal modern The Darkest Red is an interesting act for you.
