Bloodsin
Tales from the Dissecting Table
Self Released
Bloodsin started out in 2003 by three former members of Pernicious. Six years later they deliver their self-financed full-length which they have been working on for quite a while. I remember getting a rough mix of this album quite a while ago from vocalist Bjorn.
“Tales from the Dissecting Table” delivers a nice dose of old school death metal. Listening to this album I had to think of early Sinister mixed with early Cannibal Corpse and the first couple of albums of Six Feet Under. Bloodsin doesn’t sound like they’ve reinvented the genre, they’re actually the opposite; they play some old school death metal like you’ve heard it zillion times before and there’s nothing wrong with that. At least it’s not irritating to listen to, it is kind of familiar sounding and that’s exactly what these guys are aiming for. They just want to play some good sounding death metal and they’re doing that quite okay. There are tons of Dutch bands that are more boring.
The only thing that bugs me about this release is the logo; please change that for future releases!
